Something I Learned Today

Punk Rock and Other Assorted Bullshit

SILT Podcast #3

Another in the irregular podcast series. I’ve been asked a couple of times if you need iTunes or an iPod to listen. The answer definitively is no. All you have to do is download and play in any mp3 player. If I ever get an rss feed setup you’ll be able to subscribe to the podcast via iTunes, but my feet are dragging in that area. This weeks a bit longer than I’d like due to the fact that I’m a yakety motherfucker with a voice best suited for silence I couldn’t find anything to drop off the list.

Hey, man! c’mon, you’ve got a nice, tough boy-ish voice! (judging by the last podcast) Ha! I really liked the last podcast session, gonna download this one when I get home. (from track 15 to 18, post-hardcore session!)

Man, when I first heard Ikara Colt’s “Chat and Business” I was elated. The recording, the songwriting, the vocals, the tension, the dry, roughness of it. It was my favorite release of the year. I wish they’d kept it up, because I just couldn’t get into their followups. ‘At the Lodge’ is a great pick, and I’m loving the podcast. Keep on!

Oh, and forgot to say “whoa yeah!” to that Gaunt track. “Yeah, Me Too” is one of the most fun Amrep releases I own.

Who are the Watts (their song is awesome), and how is that they are so obscure that I can’t find anything about them in the internet????

Anon - you can check out Watts at Estrus Records

I listened to this podcast while washing my car (’97 Jetta Trek, motherFUCKER) and I loved it.

Is it possible for you to post the GANDHI stuff? I can’t find it anywhere. I’m more of a punk rock fella than a math-metal guy, myself, but EVERYBODY LOVES YOU is such a kick-ass track.

Thanks! I check your site every week and can’t believe my luck at habing found it. It’s a goddamn service to humanity, is what it is.
