Glad you guys like this. I’m enjoying putting these together, more so than the usual posts. This may be the future for me…

Peter - you can check out a nice rip of “Slack” on Bob Mould’s site

Scott - just to say your weekly podcast rocks. I’ve obviously modeled mine on yours. Royalty check is in the mail!

Hey man, your blog kicks fuckin’ ass. Just discovered your podcast, and the first one rocks…just a question, do you normalize the volume of your tracks before you lay them down?

There’s a nice free tool called Mp3gain (http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/index.php) that non-destructively lets you normalize all your trax, and it really helps to create cohesive-sounding ‘cast. Very easy to use and indispensable IMHPOV. Chiggity check it out sometime.

Eric — this is great. I’m leaning towards these too. If I do one, I’ll owe you a royalty check!

    Hey, Eric

Thanks for calling that to my attention. Much appreciated. Went a few pages back on his 2004 archives and harvested a couple other nuggets, chief among them, THE SUBURBS’ “World War III.” Quite primo “‘Cause God said….kneeeeeeel yewwww bassssstards.” Kind of made my day ‘tween that and the NNB track, which yes, did stand for “No Name Band.” Old roommate of mine played bass in them and once upon a time I had a stack of them. Collector scum who shall remain nameless paid a premium for the last three I had too.

    Cheers!
