Something I Learned Today

Punk Rock and Other Assorted Bullshit

Back in October

I’ll be off next week taking care of some work related crap, expect some new stuff the first week in October. And now the important question - can anyone recommend a good record (and by “record” I mean vinyl) store in the Denver/Boulder area? Let me know in the comments.

Later…

    Wax Trax Records
    E. 13th and Washington (Capital Hill)
lookin’ for beer? Check out the 15th street tavern. I always really liked Shelby’s (18th & Glenarm) too.

Wax is great, Twist & Shout ok, but Black and Read on 88th(?) & Washington is chock full of rare records, crazy books & videos. Don’t miss it. They have a 2nd location on 44th & Wash but go to the first one I mentioned.

Black & Read is at 80th & Wadsworth, and that should be your #1 stop. Bart’s in Boulder is well worth your time, then Wax Trax and Twist and Shout.

Black & Read is sweet. If you want to scrounge for awesome records (often in rough condition) outside of the scope of this site, Wax Trax is still the pick imo. You can find original Blue Notes and lots of cool jazz, r & b, etc for CHEAP. Hit em early, hit em often. 20 bucks gets you an armful of great records.

Man, I definitely agree with Black & Read. I used to work at Bart’s (which has a great used LP section upstairs) in Boulder, but I would make many special trips to hit up Black & Read with wads of cash and credit.

Let us know if and where you scored anything fun!

    Thanks!
