Bored Youth
I’m gonna need your help on this one, as information is scarce. Bored Youth were an early Detroit hardcore band, part of the burgeoning Touch & Go scene (Necros, Fix, Meatmen, etc.) They never had an official release, but their 11 song demo tape from 1981 was released as Touch and Go, part of the Lost & Found 7″ box set. I remember hearing that this was to be an official Touch & Go release that didn’t pan out for some reason. (info, please!) Eh, it’s all hazy. The sound is a bit rough, but that skronky guitar and the snotty vocals makes up for the lack of fidelity:

It’ interesting to see this single being sold individually. I have the box set with 7″’s from Bored Youth, United Mutation, Impatient Youth, the Meatmen, and White Flag. Pretty cool.
I was hoping someone with a real life recollection of the band would step up, but no takers I guess.
my brother was the singer of bored youth–funny it was amillion yrs ago
Rob Michaels, the singer, wento n to sing for local legends The Allied, featuring Pete Zalewski who was an original member of Negative Approach. Anyone have any Allied material? They did some demos, one which was recorded by John Kedzy for a never-released album.
I went to college with Rob the singer and Robert, the bass player (who committed suicide while we were in Ann Arbor). What a nice, gentle guy Robert was. As far as I know, Rob remains a nice guy. Last I heard he is practicing law in Chicago.
I find myself here right now, because I just read that Larissa from L-Seven/Laughing Heyennas has recently died. That made me think about Bored Youth, another band I associate with the early years of Touch and Go.
